How long is the course?
The course takes place over a full working day and lasts for around 6 hours.
What does the course cover?
This 1 day course can be tailored to your workplace's specific needs and covers the basic elements of first aid, including:
- Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
- Assessing a situation
- Dealing with a non-breathing casualty
- Resuscitation and choking
- Dealing with a non-responsive casualty
- Bleeding and shock
- Suspected fractures
- Dealing with minor injury
What will I get from the course?
After a successful assessment has been made by the instructor you'll gain an industry recognised qualification which is valid for 3 years. Note: it is also strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual 3 hour refresher programme.
I am a childcarer do I need to complete this and the Paediatric First Aid?
You may require an adult first aid course if caring for older children or being the first aider working with other adults such as other staff member. You are now able to coming the Paediatric First Aid training with the EFAW in one day. Please contact us for details.
12 hour paediatric first aid course with additional home study and integrated EFAW - Emergency First Aid at Work.
Do you need an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate also. We can now combine this with our 12 hour Paediatric First Aid. Please note an additional fee of £20 applies.

How large are the class sizes?
We admit a maximum of 12 students per instructor with a minimum age range of 16 years and above. (Larger classes can be held on request.) We have strict COVID measures in place.

Who will be teaching us first aid?
All of our courses are taught by registered nurses, ambulance staff and experienced first aid instructors who have direct first aid teaching and administering experience.
Where is the course held?
Courses can take place within your own home, at our specialist venue in Hove or at your workplace if you're located in Sussex, Surrey, London or Kent.
What else is included?
Our courses include expert instruction, presentation, handouts and an accredited certification upon successful completion of the course.
